World Cup 2026 Baltimore

Is the World Cup Coming to Baltimore?

In the beginning of June it was announced that the combined bid of the United States, Mexico, and Canada was awarded the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday, making Baltimore a hot topic about whether or not it will host a match for the World Cup!

Along with twenty-three other cities within the United States, Baltimore will be under the microscope of FIFA and the United Bid Committee to determine if they will receive a game to host. It is commonly thought that because the World Cup will be hosted between three countries, Canada will receive two or three games, Mexico will receive three, with the rest being played in the United States.

Baltimore though is no stranger to hosting soccer matches featuring the world’s best. M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, commonly hosts soccer teams from Europe for matches. M&T Bank also meets the criteria in the fact that it can seat 70,000 giving it a 4.2 out of 5 stars (the third highest score for any stadium in the United States)

Other cities within the United States that could potentially host a soccer match for the world cup are: Washington DC, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, amongst others. Let’s hope Baltimore is selected!
