Baltimore Ravens Player Arrested

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey was arrested January 19th on a third-degree robbery charge. According to reports the arrest happened in Tuscaloosa Alabama, where Mr. Humphrey played college football for the Crimson Tide. Humphrey, a first round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2017, was released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail after posting the $2,500 bail.

It is being reported nationally that, he allegedly store a phone charger from his Uber driver, an item valued at $15.00. The incident occured at the Hotel Capstone on January 13th. In a statement released to the media the Baltimore Ravens said “Marlon told us that it was a misunderstanding regarding a $15 telephone charger, which he thought was his. Our understanding is that he has been interviewed by the University of Alabama Police and is cooperating. We are monitoring the situation.”

Mr. Humphrey is being charged with third-degree robbery in the state of Alabama. In the state of Alabama robbery in the third degree is as follows:

  1. A person commits a crime of robbery in the third degree if the course of committing a theft he or she:
  2. Uses force against the person of the owner or any person present with intent to overcome his physical resistance or physical power of presence; or
  3. Threatens the imminent use of force against the person of the owner or any person present with intent to compel acquiescence to the taking of or escaping with the property.
  4. Robbery in the third degree is a Class C felony.
